When the muscles are contracted, it can be difficult or impossible to try to stretch them out from their retracted position.
As with cervical dystonia, a neuromodulator injection may relieve some symptoms of spasticity, allowing the treated individual more freedom of movement and comfort. For spasticity, a reduction of symptoms is usually noticeable after about two weeks. This treatment has the potential to help a patient feel better for several months.

Like Botox, this is a neuromodulator injection. Both of these injections contain the botulinum toxin, but they do differ slightly from one another. When compared to each other, Botox tends to be slightly more expensive and less diluted.
There are also slight differences in the ingredients, with Dysport containing abobotulinumtoxinA and Botox containing onabotulinumtoxinA. Both can be effective treatment options.
